Hundreds of primary school students will learn valuable, lifelong skills as part of a year-long mental health initiative in the Gladstone Region funded by Santos GLNG.

Senior Community Adviser, Carey McIntosh, and teachers and students from Mount Larcom State School and Benaraby State School.

The $15,000 investment will help The Resilience Project roll out its popular school wellbeing program across Mount Larcom, Yarwun, Benaraby and Gladstone Central state schools.

The Resilience Project delivers emotionally engaging programs to schools, sports clubs, and businesses, providing practical, evidence-based mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness.  With relatable storytelling and humour, the Resilience Project opens conversations about wellbeing and teaches positive mental health strategies to help people become happier and more resilient.

Santos GLNG CEO Stephen Harty said the evidence-based program is already available in more than 1,000 schools across Australia.

We’ve been a part of the Gladstone Region community since 2009 and are passionate about creating a positive legacy by supporting the community that supports us,” Mr Harty said.
