Santos GLNG Celebrates: Strong Participation at Port to ParkFun Run

The Santos GLNG team proudly joined the Gladstone community for the annual Port to Park Fun Run, marking yet another year of enthusiastic participation and strong community support. 

Held in Gladstone, the event drew record-breaking numbers, solidifying its reputation as one of the region’s most anticipated fundraising events.

As a major sponsor since 2009 - when the event was first launched under the name Botanic to Bridge - Santos GLNG has remained committed to supporting local initiatives that promote health, wellbeing, and community connection. Over the years, the Fun Run has grown in size and impact, and 2025 was no exception.

This year’s event saw over 1,500 participants take on the scenic 3km, 5km, and 10km courses, making it the largest turnout in the event’s history. Among the runners were more than 80 Santos GLNG employees and their families, lacing up their shoes and hitting the pavement in a show of team spirit and support for a good cause.

“It’s always great to see our team come together outside of work to support the community we live and work in,” said Santos GLNG General Manager Downstream Operations, Richard Mclaughlin. “The energy on the day was fantastic, and we’re proud to be part of something that makes a real difference.”

Beyond the race, the event raised over $50,000 for a range of local beneficiaries, including the Gladstone Women’s Health Centre, PCYC Gladstone, and several local schools. These funds will go toward important programs and services that directly benefit the Gladstone community.

The Port to Park Fun Run continues to be a shining example of what can be achieved when local businesses, families, and community organisations come together with a shared goal. Santos GLNG looks forward to continuing its partnership and helping the event reach new heights in the years to come.
