Over 250 students from Benaraby, Mount Larcom, and Ambrose state schools will benefit from The Resilience Project's School Wellbeing Program in 2026, thanks to nearly $12,000 in funding from Santos GLNG.

This nationally recognised wellbeing program delivers evidence-based lessons designed to build gratitude, empathy, and mindfulness - practical skills proven to support mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Through engaging presentations, classroom activities, and ongoing exercises, students learn strategies to manage stress, strengthen relationships, and develop resilience both in and out of the classroom.

The program also provides resources for teachers and parents to reinforce these skills at school and at home.

Santos GLNG CEO Stephen Harty said the initiative is more important than ever, with many Australian children and adolescents experiencing mental health challenges each year.

“Programs like The Resilience Project equip students with practical tools to navigate challenges, nurture strong relationships, and build healthy coping strategies,” Mr Harty said.

“We’re proud to partner with Benaraby, Mount Larcom, and Ambrose state schools to ensure every one of these 250 plus students can access this program in 2026.

"Investing in the wellbeing of young people is an investment in the future of our community. With more than 90 percent of our workforce living locally, we are deeply committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen Gladstone, now and into the future.”
