When families face the unimaginable challenge of having a sick child requiring medical treatment away from home, every gesture of support matters. That's why Santos GLNG recently visited the Ronald McDonald House Charities Southeast Queensland (RMHC SEQ) to provide comfort, care and community to families during their most difficult times. What started as a team volunteer initiative became something much more meaningful – a powerful demonstration of community spirit in action.
The Santos GLNG team immersed themselves in the daily life of the House, understanding firsthand the challenges families face when their children require medical treatment away from home. Team members spent the day preparing nutritious meals in the communal kitchens, organising family activity areas and maintaining the welcoming spaces that make Ronald McDonald House a true home away from home. But perhaps most importantly, they were simply present – offering friendly conversations, sharing stories, and providing the human connection that means so much to families during difficult times.
The experience also enriched our team members, providing perspective on the resilience of families and the vital role community organisations like RMHC SEQ play in our region.
