At Santos GLNG, we’re passionate about fostering the next generation of local talent. This month we welcomed six local Gladstone high school students who undertook a 1-week program on site. Santos GLNG has been running work experience programs in conjunction with the local Gladstone Area State Secondary Schools Industry Partnerships (GASSSIP) and Chanel College for the past 3 years, covering various trades including electrical instrumentation, mechanical and operations.

Santos GLNG is proud to be the sole LNG company in Gladstone that offers this work experience program. We give a special ‘thank you’ to those leaders that are willing to invest time with the students to ensure their experience with us is productive and educational. This program also offers support to local Gladstone schools by providing ‘interview experience’, and general careers days, so that students understand how to tailor their studies for the various entry level roles that are available at GLNG. This hands-on experience provides the students with invaluable insights into site operations which, in turn, aids in bridging the gap between academic learning and placement in the workforce.
Santos GLNG enjoyed this great opportunity to work with these students and to see the fresh perspectives they brought to the GLNG team.
