Backing Local Talent for 12 Years as Gladstone Eisteddfod 2025 Gets Underway

The Gladstone Eisteddfod 2025 has officially begun, marking the start of six weeks of music, movement, and creativity from local performers across the Gladstone Region. 

Now in its 55th year, the Eisteddfod is a cherished cultural event that provides a supportive stage for performers of all ages and skill levels across four core disciplines: Instrumental, Vocal, Speech & Drama, and Dance.

Santos GLNG is proud to celebrate its 12th year as a sponsor of the Eisteddfod, a partnership that began in 2013 and reflects our long-standing commitment to supporting youth and arts in the communities where we operate.

Santos GLNG CEO, Stephen, highlighted the importance of investing in local young people through programs like the Eisteddfod.

“One of our key focus areas is building a resilient Gladstone Region. The Gladstone Eisteddfod plays an integral role in this by instilling confidence and teaching teamwork across the young generation,” he said.

This year’s event also saw the presentation of the Santos GLNG Bursary at the Vocal Eisteddfod, awarded to talented young performer Lucy. Lucy, who is passionate about music and hopes to study it at university, was “over the moon” to receive the $500 bursary, which she plans to put towards her future studies. Her mother shared that Lucy “loves music” and was thrilled by the recognition.

For Santos GLNG, supporting the Eisteddfod is about more than just sponsorship, it’s about helping young creatives connect, grow, and shine. By continuing to invest in regional arts and youth development, we aim to contribute to a stronger, more vibrant Gladstone community.
